| Batam Escapade (27/09/09 - 29/09/09) |

i told baby that i dont want to spent my leaves in Singapore as there is nothing for us to do
so even before i start to panick about my birthday party
we were looking to go overseas (my idea :p)
hahahas
i was thinking about Batam, Bintan or some island
in the end we chose Batam and decide to stay in Harris Resort due to the cheap package and the good reviews :D
3 days and 2 nights for S$95 only wor!! o.O
HAHAHAHs
including complimentary breakfast for 2 mornings :)
is very happy that we got this good deal :p
Day ONE:
tried to wake up early though we slept at around 3am the night before
but we couldnt :x
only booked the ferry ticket after we woke up
and were a bit running late if we wanted to catch the first ferry over at 1210pm
and we hadnt change any money yet!
hahahahs
went to withdraw and i was at my poorest since i start work after withdrawing the money
never had my bank account reflect so little money before
LOLS
but its ok cause my pay will come on the end of the month :p
decide to cabbed down instead of rushing down by public transport as we were carrying bulky bags too :p
 the straw bag came just in time! ^^

rushed to BatamFast to get our ferry tickets & boarding pass
 
and change money
rate no good also bo bian :x
 but we become millionaires..LOLS
waiting for the gantry to open
 
people were damn kiasu de lo!
they literally run towards the ferry when the gantry opens :x
but in the end i realise why they had to; to get the good seats ie aircon/cushioned seats
for people who strolled like baby and me
we got to sit in the open air seats where the chairs are lousy, dirty and people can smoke :(
on the ferry
 
 
saw Star Virgo again and out to the sea we go :)
lucky i dont suffer from seasickness :p
 
 
 
 
first pit stop at Sekupang and a lot of people alight here
 
the ferry terminal looks new
baby say the exterior looks quite impressive, better than he thought
then i saw that the other side of the terminal seems half contructed o.O
and we deduced that maybe they build half to use and the other half not completed yet :x
 
 shipyard..so cool! :)
we saw the Harris Hotel signage before docking! hahahs
 the hotel is situated near the coast :)
 and finally we reach our stop :D
 
 
Waterfront City ^^
going through immigration~~
 
the immigration office was small and old
the people seems quite slack too
hahahas
very country feel :p
caught the shuttle bus to Harris Hotel after going through the customs
 
but the bus was very hot :x
the aircon is blowing hot air
plus the weather there was already scorching :x
 
 on the way~~
luckily the hotel is only about 5minutes away from the terminal
so we didnt have to be cooped in the hot bus for too long :p

upon arrival
the staffs gave us a pouch of information sheets and honeydew drinks :D
so nice! ^^

but its S$95 with conversion rate of S$1 : RP$7000
 i saw Bryan Ong!! but i didnt manage to snap a photo of him
only realised they had the batam package with Bryan when we reach there
we arrived early and before the check-in time
so had to wait for our rooms to be ready
i keep looking at the time wrongly as Batam time is 1 hour slower than Singapore time :p
baby brought his netbook
 so he decide to test out the wireless
but need password :x
and so we waited
 with PSP :p DJ Max is damn fun!
thanks baby for putting it into his PSP for me :D
finally 2pm (Batam time) arrive and so is our room ready :)
 going to level 4
our room was just beside the lift
hahahs
how convenient :p
 
i think everyone will always look at the hotel room toilet before anything else?
hahahs
the toilet is clean and everything is there :)
hairdryer, toothbrushes, towels etc etc ^^
 
the room :)
 
the curtain was closed when we enter and upon opening the curtains
the whole room was lit up brilliantly
it was indeed very hot and sunny in Batam :p
at the balcony and balcony view :)
 
 
 dare not raid the mini fridge..hahahs..expensive stuffs! :p
and best thing is they had all the nice tv channels!
all SG channels + star movies, HBO, discovery channel, animal planet etc etc!!
can rot in hotel all day already :p
then baby came upon the sports channel and got glued by soccer =.=
zzzz
 
hahahs
he went to set up his netbook not long after
and i watch tv :p
 
 
got slightly hungry
and we decide to pop by the hotel's cafe for some munchies :)
 
 
 baby couldnt decide which menu to see first
hahahahs
 ^^
i think everyone will do this when they go Indonesia
 is got alot of notes de lo, big ones somemore :p HAHAs
ordered pizza to share :)
recommendation for their beef one
thin crispy crust with thick layer of toppings! shiok!! ^^

imagine baby's glee when he realise that the cheese shaker got such a big opening
he is use pour one lo o.O
 
 the hotel uses SG dollars but you can choose to pay in Rupiah.
conversion rate is slighty high though - S$1 : RP$7000
our exchange rate was S$1 : RP$6700 when we change money
wanted to go Nagoya Mall
but the hotel only had shuttle services in the morning and afternoon
bought our tickets for the next day morning
and decided to explore the hotel grounds :)
 the new wing of the hotel :)
went to the cavana area and a small swampy beach
 
 saw mudskipper! hahas..quite big one..

i wanted to swim
so we went back to room to change
switch on the tv and we saw the F1 telecast
 zoom~~~ hahahas
 ready to swim!!! :p
the water was warm, very warm due to the whole day of scorching sun
and damn nice to swim in la!! :D
hahahahs
i wouldnt like it as much if the water is cold :p
change after about an hour of "swimming", well, its more like playing water
hahahahs
then we ask the security guard to recommend us some nice seafood places
he told us of a place call Delima
which was S$3 away via cab and near the ferry terminal
we didnt know any place else so took up his recommendation
the cabs were already ready to go at the hotel
so the guard help us call for one
LOLS
reached the place
and took a seaview table
 
 was quite empty though
i wasnt feeling too hungry
so we didnt order a lot
coconut drink, butter prawns, calamari and hotplate tofu
 
 
luckily we didnt order a lot
the food wasnt as good as expected :(
the coconut taste like water and the prawns like not fresh
the tofu is still ok
and they forgot our order of calamari!!!
when we eat finish everything, baby asked then they say its coming =.=
the calamari was ok, pulled up some points
but we both agree that anything fried wouldnt taste that bad anyway
called for the bill which made us quite upset
 the freaking nasi (rice) was RP$14,000 about S$2 for 2 small plates!!!
felt so cheated la!!! :(
vow never to go there again! :(
took the same cab back to hotel as the cab driver waited for us
this time i make sure baby got exactly RP$21,000 cause baby told me that when he made payment just now
he dont have small change then the driver return him any change when he gve RP$25,000
then say something like he got no change to change =.=
back to hotel
it was still rather early
so i suggested to baby to go bowling :D
 S$2.50 per game, $S1 for shoe rental and S$2 for socks
the bowling alley/center look dingy and old :x
 
 and only got us :x
hahahahs
i asked for a plaster so prevent my nails from breaking :p (lesson from Genting)
but i couldnt play well :(
cause the lightest ball they have is 8pounds
which is heavy for me :(
 first game score..i is got strike ok! hahahs :p
went on to second game
my scored dropped drastically
hahahahs
too tired from the weight of the ball
 and my score got pattern and is all 8 =.=
baby scored 155 for the second game! got a few strikes somemore! pro lo!
hahahahs
went back to hotel after the games
need to sleep early to catch the early bus to Nagoya tml morning :)
Day TWO:
woke up early
and went down for breakfast an hour before the shuttle bus leave for the mall at 1030am
  is love my green dress :D
 table mats of smileys ^^
 breakfast spread :D
the breakfast is nice! ^^
and baby had second round; porridge
glutton!! hahahs

took the bus to Nagoya after breakfast
a 30minute journey
Nagoya is supposedly their biggest shopping mall and situated in the town area
baby and i didnt buy the 2 way bus tickets from the hotel as they only had fixed timing
of about 4 hours within
so if u buy 1030am ticket, you had to leave at 230pm with the bus
and they only got either 1030am to 230pm or 2pm to 530pm =.=
our main motive for the day was to look for the highly raved massage parlour and we dont really know what time we will be done
so we only bought the one way ticket
walked along the pushcarts outside the mall first
and i saw so many fake branded goods :x
nearly every pushcart is selling lo!!
so outrageous! tsk!
 
 
 even got boutique of fake goods -.-
proves that baby is not a good camera man
never tell me the angle i stand not nice with the big bear =.=
 
went into the mall
and i saw my favourite shop!
 hohoho~~
 so cute!! is the solar thingy and the wings will go up and down :)
we bought this:
water dispenser and mouse for me and bottle dispenser for baby's sis :D
 
And surprisingly the young sales girl speaks chinese
i was so happy to converse freely with her in chinese
hahahahs
like so deprived :p
 i is a very happy girl!! ^^
proceed to walk the rest of the mall
more fake goods boutique
they are everywhere!!! :x
 
their arcade
dont have arcade video games =.=
more like a mini theme park
 
the mall is only 3 storeys high
 i told baby i now why the Harris shuttle service is only about 3 hours
cause there is nothing much to walk :x
westmall seems better than this
seriously
unless u want to buy fake branded goods :x
the cinema
seems ok
 got arcade video games inside
but the shows like not english ones
saw this "Gucci" leather jacket
with the price tag of RP$0
hahahs
 
went to their hypermart next :)
like last time IMM, got to put big baggage at the counter
 
 yakult at around S$1 only?? u got to be kidding me!
 place for food in the hypermart
and more cheap stuffs!!
baby and i went crazy
hahahahs
we shop like they cost nothing :p
 
baby just grabbed 6 rolls of mentoes..LOLS
 
 
i love to eat this type of guava

our buys! hahahahas
 
then we went searching for the massage parlour
and found it after a while :)
the staff was very friendly
i think they are very used to serving Singaporeans
 
 
 
we took the 3 hours package as the lady says she can then provide us transport back to Harris using the company car
and can wait for us to have dinner and shopped finish then send us back :)
its only RP$600,000 for the 2 of us for 3 hours
about S$89 only!!
and include transport which cost about S$15 if we took cab
such a cheap deal!
and so we took the offer :D
 went up to the 3rd floor
 
fully body scrub and massage
damn shiok!
came out refreshed :p and got ginger tea to drink :p
went back to Nagoya
i wanted to try A&W's waffles!!! :p
 
but waffles sold out le!!! :( damn sad!!!!
 had 2 piece chicken again instead :(
the A&W got 2 levels
 
went back to the hypermart after A&W
bought somemore things
then we went back to the massage parlour
for our transport :)
 the company car is those family car type
30minutes back
and the sky got dark so fast
the road doesnt have much light and have a lot of potholes
the driver got to slow down a lot of times to cross the potholes :x
so dangerous~~
was kinda afraid that we will get stopped by hooligans too :x
luckily didnt :)
snacked in hotel room :p
 my favourite tapioca chips :p
 bought kuah lepis for baby's mum
rested, surf internet and watch tv :p
 
went down to the hotel bar at around 10-ish
 
 
liveband and fruit juice :)
the liveband knows hokkien and chinese songs too :)
and they thought i was from hong kong o.O hahahas
 
baby's alarm went off at 12am (Singapore time) but its Batam 11pm
i asked baby am i 21 already anot
and he say not yet cause Batam not 12am yet =.=
went back to our room soon after
and i fell asleep before SG 12am came :x
baby said he wake me when it was 12am to wish me Happy Birthday but i got no memories of it
according to him i did reply before telling him that i want to go back to sleep
hahahahs
weird
but it happens, i was too tired i guess :p
Day THREE:
last day!
wanted to catch the earliest ferry back to SG
1010am
so we woke up early too :)
took breakfast again
same food but as good
 i love cereals! ^^
made this while baby was doing checkout and i went to the cafe first :D
 
 smaller spread :p
there was shuttle service to the ferry terminal provided
 so we waited~~
 
 
finally the bus came
with good aircon! :)
 
didnt realise we got to check in our ferry ticket
but luckily the guard at the counter was nice enough to show us
and we were just on time ^^
waiting to board the ferry :)

the return ferry was better
its fully air conditioned and the seats are all cushioned
damn comfy
slept most of the way back :p
hahahahs
 finally back!! ^^
 succumbed to exhaustion and laziness and cabbed back to babys :p
